Wat Phra That stands to the east of Wat Phra Kaeo along the same axis as that temple, suggesting that it was founded at around the same time. At the temple’s heart is a tall bell shaped chedi likely dating to the early Ayutthaya period. Around the chedi are the ruins of a rectangular gallery that contained a number of small laterite Buddha images. Galleries of this type (similar to the one at Wat Phutthaisawan) were not generally used until the Ayutthaya period, suggesting that the temple was remodeled after its founding in the Sukhothai era. To the east of the chedi stands the base of a large viharn (assembly hall) measuring 31 x 15 meters with four rows of columns footings standing atop the platform.
