Moa is a beautiful archeological site exhibiting three historical periods – the Nabatean, Roman and Arab periods, however it is mainly recognized as a Nabatean fortress, situated on the famous Incense Route that stretches from the Arabian Peninsula to the Mediterranean and recognized in 2005 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The Nabatean Moa, or Moa Khan was a Nabatean city in the Arava region, which operated as a crossroads on the Incense Route in the Nabatean kingdom during the Roman period.
