The castle was built between 1280 and 1316 by Gilles de Voisins, and his son after him, Gilles II. It is composed of a square-shaped enclosure whose south-facing wall is the only in a good state of preservation. The south-east tower, restored and converted into living quarters, maintains an emblazoned key-stone as decoration of its facade, and similarly preserves the remains of a fireplace in the north wall inside the enclosure. The castle was listed as an Historical Monument in 1887.
