China, Urumqi – Hongshan Gongyuan Dafu Temple (00:01:42)

The Great Buddha Temple, located in Hongshan Park, Urumqi City, is a Han Buddhist temple. The main buildings are Heavenly Palace, Daxiong Palace, Guanyin Palace and Dihizo Temple. According to the inscriptions of the Great Buddha Temple in or outside the courtyard, the Tang Dynasty Zhongzong built Longxing West Temple in this mountain for the first predecessor of the Great Buddha Temple, it was the earliest Buddhist shrine in Urumqi. Hongshan ancient temple group built in Qianlong 44 years ago, commonly known as “Hongmiaozi”, historical materials include “Dianyu, red earth wall”, which can see the large building at that time.
